The Sexual Health and Reproductive Education Project at Bulamu Access Foundation is a community-based initiative aimed at equipping adolescents and young people with accurate, age-appropriate information about their sexual and reproductive health and rights. The project addresses the critical gaps in knowledge that often lead to early pregnancies, unsafe abortions, sexually transmitted infections, and gender-based violence, especially in rural and underserved areas. Through school outreach programs, peer-to-peer education, youth-friendly health camps, and safe dialogue spaces, Bulamu empowers young people particularly girls to make informed decisions about their bodies and futures. The project also involves parents, teachers, and local leaders to create supportive environments that break cultural taboos and promote open communication. By building awareness, encouraging responsibility, and improving access to services, this project plays a vital role in reducing teenage pregnancy and improving the overall well-being of Uganda’s youth.
